Now that all of the Semifinals have officially finished we can take a look at all 38 of the athletes that have qualified for the 2021 Crossfit Games and see any patterns that have appeared among the athletes.
Just for reference, these are who will be at the Games:
- 5 men, women, and teams from each North American Semifinal
- 5 men, women, and teams from each European Semifinal
- 3 men, women, and teams from the Oceania Semifinal
- 2 men, women, and teams from the Asian Semifinal
- 2 men, women, and teams from the South American Semifinal
- 1 man, woman, and team from the African Semifinal
Below we will be looking at the average ages for both the men and the women, as well as the oldest and youngest athletes. You may be surprised to see the number of athletes over 30…
MEN
- Average age – 28
- Oldest athlete – 37 (Jason Smith)
- Youngest athlete – 22 (Justin Medeiros & Luka Dukic)
- Number of athletes 30 or older – 13
- Number of athletes 25 or younger – 13

WOMEN
- Average age – 30
- Oldest athlete – 39 (Sam Briggs)
- Youngest athlete – 17 (Mallory O’brien & Emma Cary)
- Number of athletes 30 or older – 14
- Number of athletes 25 or younger – 12
Interest fact: If you were to exclude O’brien & Cary it would bump up the average age to 31.
