Although he qualified, Khrennikov unfortunately wasn’t able to compete at the 2019 CrossFit Games due to visa complications.

He did however make up for it when he had the opportunity to compete at the 2020 CrossFit Games since they were performed online.

Khrennikov finished 13th overall in his rookie debut, beating veteran athletes like Brent Fikowski and Cole Sager, as well as winning the 1,000m row event with a time of 2:48.

With the 2021 CrossFit Games qualification changing from Sanctionals to continental competitions Khrennikov will most likely qualify for the 3rd year in a row and perhaps be the first male from Eastern Europe to crack the podium since Mikko Salo won the 2009 Games.
