How Strong Are Crossfit Women? This Chart Shows

Since strength training is such a huge part of the Crossfit system it is no surprise that Crossfit women are much stronger than the average woman, while doing so at a lower bodyweight.

But we’re not only referring to back squats and deadlifts, Crossfit women also excel at more technical olympic weightlifting movements such as the snatch and clean and jerk.

We will be using the latter for our data below.

This past week the 2020 Dubai Crossfit Championship, the 2nd Crossfit HQ sanctioned competition of 2020 took place and in event 4 we got to see what the women were capable of. 1 rep max clean and jerk.

When looking at these numbers keep in mind that the 2 top women in this event weigh only 152 pounds (Sara Sigmundsdottir) and 160 pounds (Callerina Natori).

At a 246 pound clean and jerk they almost lifted 100 pounds over their body weight.

It is important to note that these numbers represent some of the best athletes in Crossfit and not every woman at your local gym can get close to these numbers, however these women are not weightlifting specialists.

They are able to lift these weights while also maintaining respectable levels of gymnastics and cardio.
