With the introduction of worldwide Crossfit Sanctionals last year athletes have had the choice to ignore them and focus on the Open as their path to the Crossfit Games or embrace them and make some money on the side.
And no one has embraced them more than Sara Sigmundsdóttir.
Since 2019 Sigmundsdottir has competed in 6 Crossfit sanctioned events and has never finished below 3rd.
Although Sara is currently undefeated in 2020 (including 1st place in 2020 Open) she faces her toughest competition next month when she competes at 2020 Wodapalooza against 3x Crossfit Games champion Tia-Clair Toomey and games veterans Kari Pearce and Brooke Wells.
If not for Toomey, Sigmundsdóttir would have 4 straight Sanctionals championships and Toomey and Pearce were also the only 2 capable of beating Sara at last year’s Wodapalooza.
Will Sara stay undefeated in 2020 or will Toomey and Pearce once again stand in her way?
