It all started when team captain Rich Froning first decided to go team after winning his 4th straight individual championship the year before.
Since 2015 team Mayhem has had 5 different rosters in as many years, however that has not been a hindrance on their success, with Mayhem taking the gold in four out of the last 5 years and a silver in 2017.

There have been a total of 10 different athletes that have had the honor of calling themselves a member of team Mayhem and in 2020 there will be an 11th.
At the end of the 2019 Crossfit Games Dre Strohm announced that he would not be returning for the 2020 season leaving everyone to wonder who is next.
We didn’t have to wait long.
During the announcement of Open workout 20.1 Rich Froning announced that 8x Crossfit Games athlete Scott Panchik would be replacing Dre Strohm for the 2020 season.
This will now be the sixth version of Crossfit Mayhem Freedom since 2015.
