Before today NOBULL‘s most successful Crossfit athlete and their only Crossfit Games champion was Katrin Davidsdottir, but now that Tia-Clair Toomey has joined the team things just got even sweeter.
Obviously sponsors want the best athletes in the sport repping their brand but it doesn’t always come down to just how many championships they have, social reach is equally as important.
The main goals of a brand sponsoring an athlete is to improve brand reputation, broaden their customer base, and increase sales.
A Crossfit athlete like Tia-Clair Toomey only competes a few times throughout the year which really limits a brand’s opportunities to get in front of an audience. That is where social media comes in.
Through a large social media following an athlete is able to constantly promote their sponsor’s brand making it worthwhile for the company. And NOBULL scored big time.
Before Toomey joined NOBULL here’s what their athlete’s combined social reach looked like:
- TOTAL INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS: 3,104,000
- TOTAL FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS: 423,028
NOW WITH TOOMEY:
- TOTAL INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS: 4,057,000 (Toomey added 953,000)
- TOTAL FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS: 571,028 (Toomey added 148,000)
Although it is a huge improvement NOBULL is still behind both Nike and Reebok when it comes to social reach.
