Which Brand Sponsors The Best Crossfit Athletes?

The Best Crossfit Games Sponsors: Nike, Reebok, NOBULL

As the Crossfit Games have been growing over the years so have the strength of sponsors, with Reebok starting it all off in 2010.

While the Games were on their way up the top athletes were primarily sponsored by Reebok with some of the lesser known athletes partnering with good companies with less prestige than the big names.

Things are similar now, the only difference however is that there are now 3 main brands fighting to sponsor the best: Reebok, Nike, NoBull.

Again Reebok was the one that got to have whoever they wanted at the beginning but have they been able to hold on? Do they still have the best Crossfit athletes on their team?

Below we will be looking at the sponsored athletes of Reebok – the original, Nike – the sports giant, and NoBull – the newcomer to determine which brand has been able to snag the best Crossfit athletes based on:

  • Total number of Crossfit Games champions
  • Highest Crossfit Games placing
  • Average 2018 Crossfit Games placing across all athletes
  • Total number of Instagram and Facebook followers (to determine social reach)

*Sponsored team athletes placing will not be included in the average 2018 placing*

*Rogue Fitness is not included as they are a concurrent sponsor with these companies*

Although Nike’s sponsored athletes had the highest average placing at the 2018 Crossfit Games, including reigning champ Mat Fraser, Reebok holds the most past champions as well as the largest social media reach.

NOBULL’s athletes actually had a higher average placing than Reebok’s but they are falling behind on social media reach. The addition of Katrin Davidsdottir however is likely to make a huge impact for their brand and reputation.

Also, after reigning champ Tia-Clair Toomey did not renew her partnership with Reebok rumors are flying around that she may also be heading to NOBULL alongside fellow Crossfit Games champ Katrin.

If Toomey were to join NOBULL their Instagram reach would jump to 4,044,000 and their Facebook following would climb to 570,028.
