Who Is The Most Popular Dóttir? According to Google

The Dóttirs are household names in the Crossfit community and for good reason.

Between Katrin Davidsdottir, Annie Thorisdottir, and Sara Sigmundsdottir there are a combined:

4 Crossfit Games championships
7 Crossfit Games podiums
22 Crossfit Games appearances
4 Worldwide Crossfit Open wins
14 Top 10 Worldwide Open finishes

All of these accolades however, haven’t just made them popular among Crossfitters but also sparked interest among the general public.

Using Google Trends, Instagram, and Facebook we thought it would be interesting to see just which Dóttir is currently the most popular in the world.

GOOGLE TRENDS

“Google Trends is a website by Google that analyzes the popularity of top search queries in Google Search across various regions and languages. The website uses graphs to compare the search volume of different queries over time.” – Google

Crossfit Statistics on Katrin, Annie, Sara

As you can see from the chart above all 3 women have about equal popularity all year long, and all 3 have a big spike in Google search traffic in August due to the Crossfit Games.

In August Katrin still edges out both Annie and Sara likely due to the fact that Katrin was able to crack the top 10 at the Crossfit Games when she finished 4th.

Annie and Sara did not make it through to the top 10 and because of this their Crossfit Games were cut short and thus they were in the public eye a lot less than Katrin.

One more addition for Katrin in August was the release of her book “Dottir: My Journey to Becoming a Two-Time CrossFit Games Champion“.

Katrin Davidsdottir however, also has a massive spike in popularity in September due to her being featured naked in the latest issue of the ESPN magazine body issue among many other of the world’s best athletes.

Besides August and September it looks as though the world loves the Dóttirs equally.

Although not as well known yet Helgadottir has been to the Crossfit Games 5 times and actually ended up beating both Annie (11th) and Sara (19th) at the 2019 Crossfit Games where she finished 9th.
