2023 CrossFit Games Prediction: Gabi Migala

Last weekend 24 year old Gabi Migala from Poland went up against some of the best women in the entire sport at the European Semifinal and ended up winning it all, with 6/7 events in 4th place or better.

What was most impressive about her win was the fact that it was done in a head-to-head match against her good friend Laura Horvath, who is currently the overall favorite to win the Games this year.

Other than focusing on Horvath, Migala was directly battling with 2x champ Annie Thorisdottir all weekend for the Semifinal championship and ended up coming out on top. This is important, because Thorisdottir will also likely be a top contender for the podium or championship once again.

The Perfect Year

Gabi Migala has finished inside the top 10 at the CrossFit Games for the past 2 years in a row (2022: 8th, 2021: 6th) and this 2023 season is the perfect time for her to win it all, if ever.

Possibly winning the incredibly competitive women’s division became much easier this year for Migala after the withdrawal of top athletes like:

Migala got even more help when veteran athletes like Brooke Wells, Thuri Helgadottir, and Jacqueline Dahlstrom failed to qualify.

Our 2023 CrossFit Games Prediction For Gabi Migala

After 2 top 10 years at the CrossFit Games and coming off of her 1st ever Semifinal win, we strongly predict that Gabi Migala will finish in the top 3 at the 2023 CrossFit Games.

We are not ruling out the possibility that she wins it all, but this year looks like it’s Laura Horvath’s to take.

Possible Weaknesses

At last year’s Games Gabi Migala had two event finishes in 30th or worse where she struggled on gymnastics movements like deficit handstand pushups and bar dips. Throughout the week she had an average event finish of 14th.

If she is to make the podium or have a shot at winning she will need to have an average event finish of 10th or better. She will also need to try and win multiple events at least have a handful of top 3 finishes.
