These Are The Athletes Most Likely To Win Wodapalooza 2020

One of the most competitive Sanctionals of the 2020 season, second only to the Rogue Invitational, Wodapalooza 2020 starts tomorrow and some heavy hitters are looking for a big pay day.

Last year Crossfit Games podium veteran Patrick Vellner won the men’s side by a large margin of 124 points over second place while on the women’s side 3x Crossfit Games champion Tia-Clair Toomey won by 90.

We currently have these 2 past champions as our favorites once again for this year, but let’s take a look at who has the best chance at stealing the title.

Sara Sigmundsdóttir

Wodapalooza 2020 winners

The battle between Sara and Tia is what everybody wants to watch this weekend, and for good reason.

Leading up to Wodapalooza both of these athletes have been on dominant streak and now they finally have to face each other.

Just take a look below at what Sara has done in the past year and keep in mind that if not for Toomey winning the Rogue Invitational last year Sara would have 4 straight sanctioned event wins.

And let’s not forget she also won the 2020 Crossfit Open.

We’re still predicting Toomey to take the win, but this should definitely be close.

Noah Ohlsen

These Are The Athletes Most Likely To Win Wodapalooza 2020

This will be Ohlsen’s first Sanctional of the 2020 season after coming off a hot 2nd place finish at the Crossfit Games where he also notched his first ever individual event win (Event: Mary).

Although Noah finished 3rd at last year’s Wodapalooza

Ohlsen will have the added benefit of having the home-field advantage of sleeping in his own bed as Wodapalooza will be in his own back yard in Miami.

Between him and Vellner this one is going to be too close to call, but if we had to make a choice we’re giving it to Ohlsen.

Kari Pearce

wodapalooza 2020 winners

Another Crossfit Games veteran Pearce has the potential to win any event and she’s practically a sure top 3 when it comes to gymnastics events.

At last year’s Wodapalooza she was going back and forth with Toomey all weekend where she ultimately ended up taking 2nd where she also beat Sara Sigmundsdottir by 22 points.

In the past year Pearce has achieved:

  • 2019 Wodapalooza: 2nd
  • 2019 Rogue Invitational: 6th
  • 2019 Crossfit Open: 8th
  • 2019 Crossfit Games: 5th

If anyone is going to spoil the Tia-Sara show its going to be Kari.

Cole Sager

These Are The Athletes Most Likely To Win Wodapalooza 2020

No matter how consistent he is Cole Sager always somehow manages to slip off of the radar when it comes to predicting champions.

In just the past year Sager has accomplished:

  • 2019 Crossfit Games: 11th
  • 2019 Rogue Invitational: 3rd
  • 2019 Fittest in Cape Town: 2nd
  • 2019 Crossfit Open: 6th
  • 2020 Crossfit Open: 19th

However even with all of these top finishes against the highest levels of competition he is still underrated. Perhaps he can shock everyone this weekend.

Competition starts tomorrow and we can’t wait to see how things end up. Any of these athletes could take the win or an underdog could potentially steal it.
